I was clearing out some Facebook group memberships and wondered if this site was still running. Pretty surprised that it is!
How's everyone doing? I'll be back in another 6 years to reply.

We're still living in the same place. I left my helpdesk job at a mobile equipment company for a better network admin job at a secondary aluminum smelting plant. My wife is working at a preschool...
Was your dedicated switch manageable? All of our PLCs are static IPs, too. I think a big issue is all the unmanaged switches we have.
If the main network went down, could the PLCs and dedicated switch continue running?
Yo people. Been a while since I popped in here. Started a new job back in October at an aluminum re-smelter plant as the network admin. We've got a lot of PLC devices out in the plant which at the...
That's fine. I don't have any problems answering questions.
Salespeople might have a better use for onenote than I do. Considering how the pen/stylus has a button that opens directly to onenote,...
The vast majority of my meetings are over the internet using either gotomeeting or google hangouts. Since I'm using the computer to connect to the meeting and normally look at a presentation or...
That's pretty much the plan with the surfaces we're testing out now.
I have onenote on it, but I just don't have anything to take notes about to test it. I use a steno pad when on the phone to...
I've used it before. I would take notes about Blake's baseball games and enter things the kids did that I wanted to remember. Sort of like a diary about my kids. I fell out of habit and haven't...
It was brought up that we would not be able to replace the batteries in these and they only have a 1 year warranty. A 3 year warranty was tacked on after that. I'm not included in the discussion...
It wouldn't surprise me at all. Word is the sales team is floundering, but instead of spending money to get more experienced, better connected salesmen, they think spending money on a tablet will...
I was able to register for it. Haven't taken it though.
I'm currently testing out a the Surface PRO 3 for a few weeks. Then it'll be handed off to a salesman to test out. If that goes well, my company is looking to begin replacing sales laptops with...
Those doors lock by magic? Windows too? What about that massive screen? Does it fix itself? You are oversimplifying.
Is it made of transformium or something? :D
That's a gross oversimplification. I think Tesla's a are cool, but I'm sure there are many components that would require a dealer visit to correct if recalled.
Blake asked about all stars this year, but when we told him how much of a commitment it was, he decided he didn't want to do it. Last year was the first time it was clearly stated how the teams were...
Before when signing Blake up for baseball, we listed every position he played (outfield, pitcher, 2nd, 3rd, catcher), but for fall ball this year, we're only putting catcher. I don't expect him to...
The local baseball program here runs a spring and a fall season. I found myself agreeing with Blake's fall ball coach last year, and I really hope his coach this year has the same mentality. Spring...
Holy crap. I started running cross country/track in 7th grade. I didn't letter in CC until my junior year.
#242 on the left. This was right after the start of the race.

Thanks. Holy crap are my thighs sore now though. Yesterday when they were hurting I was worried that I had re-tore some of my quad muscles, but I'm able to move my legs around fine. When I tore...
So... um... yeah...
Remember that talk about me starting off slowly and speeding up after a few miles? Apparently putting people in front of me is the key to totally messing with my plans. Went...
Yeah, I was thinking they were going to be more, but in the store a 8x8x16 inch block was $.94.
We just put in a 16 x 5 ft raised bed using cinder blocks. They were $.94 at Menards which was cheaper than buying wood and building a raised bed. You can also use the holes to plant herbs/flowers.
