    It is me or the Monday fog?

    I've just been asked via e-mail if we have a site licence for social media particularly Twitter.

    Am I missing something? (Besides the usual brain cells which we're all aware of) Any ideas what they mean by this? My best guess is they are asking if they can use Twitter via the Uni's network?

    Too early and too caffeine free...

    Is it coming from the legal department? Because they are known to be missing quite a few brain cells...

    Unfortunately not, from a Post-Graduate in Computer Science.... what they actually wanted was some software to identify users with a large number of followers.

    It shouldn't be that difficult for a post-graduate in CS to look at the Twitter API and write code to do it

    I used to build computers for Computer Science Students. Because they couldn't.

    because computer science focuses mainly on programming. Most programmers I know (who were computer science students) know almost nothing about the computers the use.

    And then you wonder why the software is crappy...
    Anyway, if a CS graduate can't figure out how to get that data from the API they should have the diploma revoked.

    Sorry, it shows me a lack of troubleshooting ability that I would expect a coder to know

    but you know what they say

    {Sung to 99 bottles of Beer on the wall}

    99 little bugs in the code
    99 bugs in the code

    You run a patch and fix them all up

    107 bugs in the code.

    Elder Child is majoring in Computer Security, and I have to laugh, because there's hardly a day that goes by that I don't have to help her log into our Adobe, Amazon, or Netflix accounts.
