I think the answer to your question is: Yes, they do care about customers data security -- as long as the customer is paying buttloads of money. But if you are on Apple, Google, Microsoft, DropBox, Box, etc. -- any of these consumer level, free cloud storage solutions, then no. As long as you are storing your photos and staying within the confines of greedy walled-garden cloud A, B, C, or D, then they are happy.
