Yes, it is completely crazy but somebody will probably argue we need more guns. If the person making the cell phone video had a rifle, they could have shot the shooter instead of making a video. Crazy, but that is the kind of logic in place with some people.

Murder is already against the law. That didn't stop these loons from killing.

    But yeah, let's blame guns.

If guns were harder to get, do you think these people would have resorted to killing somebody with their bare hands? Guns make killing too easy.

If murder was illegal, do you think people would stop killing?
This was an act of racially motivated terrorism, plain and simple - carried out by one or more trained professionals.
Regardless of what they want to claim, it meets the definition of domestic terrorism perfectly. https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investi...ism-definition
"Domestic terrorism" means activities with the following three characteristics:
    Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.
Side note: I highly doubt you'll see Al Sharpton protesting these murders. In fact the whole story will be quickly out of "news".

I am guessing what you meant to ask is if guns were illegal do I think people would stop killing. Is this correct?

No, I do not think increased gun controls would stop killing but I think they would reduce it. While running errands this morning I heard part of a news story in which a Brit was comparing England to the United States. Yes, he took into consideration the population of the U.S. is five times that of England (or was he comparing against the UK as a whole? Oh well, no difference, the point remains the same). Anyway, even taking into consideration the difference in total population between the two countries, the difference in number for murders using a gun and the use of firearms by the police was considerable. When I hear numbers like this for the UK and similar numbers for Canada and other developed countries it leads me to believe we are doing something wrong here.

Somebody will argue statistics can be twisted to support any point. Okay, compare the number of murders using a gun in England to the number of murders using a gun in the U.S. and tell me why this is acceptable. This is not directed solely to CeeBee. Anybody can chime in.

Not much different than legalizing Mary Jane. "If we make more available, crimes relating to it will go down."

Every argument for the war on guns has already been done and failed with drugs. The supply is not the problem, it is the demand.
"But I got it because I'm an iSheep who needs to have all my stuff have an Apple logo on it."

I agree but when I make this point from the flip side by saying well "if all of this is true (it being illegal won't stop anyone etc) why do we have any drug laws and regulations should we just have drugs be completely unregulated like we want guns?" I get told I'm comparing apples to oranges. I don't think I am though.

No, it was a sarcastic approach. Just because something is illegal it isn't happening. Hell look at the number of [illegal] heroin deaths, the number of [illegal] drunk driving deaths...

Don't look at the object used. UK has an overall lower murder rate even when taking out all firearm murders in US. It's culture, and the reality is that the vast majority (80%) of these murders are drug/gang related.
Then look at Mexico where gun laws are strict, yet the murder rate is 5x higher.

I think you are comparing apples to oranges.
Shooting a gun at a range or keeping a gun in the house won't turn you into a zombie without any will power who gets on the street and starts shooting people.
Do heroin a couple of times and you'll probably become addicted AND willing to do anything to get your next fix.
