Is it a bad thing that I wouldn't mind finding an old ranchero?

I don't remember that they sold well when new, but I bet one would cost a fortune now. I expect that it would be virtually impossible to find one in factory original condition. Probably true for El Caminos as well.

El Caminos are everywhere around here. Rancheros are more rare. According to my buddy who was a Ford mechanic in a past life, those things were junk. things would break on them that just don't break. I see 1 Ranchero to about 20 or so El Caminos.

It's difficult to imagine any place covered up in El Caminos or Rancheros. I expect there are collectors who would pay decent money for them. I'd say, sell them off, buy a decent used replacement truck and pocket the change. I never saw anything about either Rancheros or El Caminos that made them desirable apart from their potential resale.

Easy to slam or tub and put a huge fucking motor in. I'd take a 71 SS EL Camino with a big block.
