Duty is a great read! Along with Richard Clarke's Against All Enemies, it is one of my favorite political books of the last two decades.

I just bought the latest novel in Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid series; Staked. If you like Butcher, you will enjoy Hearne. The Iron Druid books may be even funnier than the early Dresden Files. Spoiler; the recent Dresden Files novels aren't so funny. Let me take a moment to rant. The Kindle edition of Staked is just a few bucks cheaper than the hard cover, and so I bought the hardback. When I'm done, I will donate it to my local library. I want to see authors make decent money from their work, but I think traditional publishing houses inflate the prices of ebooks, and I hope in time this will bite them in the ass. OK. End of rant.

OK, still reading. At the moment I'm doing another Damien Boyd novel, Head In The Sand. The discovery of a severed head in the sand trap at the 12th hole at Burnham-on-Sea's golf course makes for a pretty good story. The rest of the remains are found in a burned out Fiat Uno parked on the beach. If that isn't already twisted enough, it turns out that the crime is a mirror image of one committed over 30 years previously.

Also just finished Robert Ellis's City of Echoes. I've read a couple of other Eillis novels, and found this one a little uneven. There were points where the plot involved a body count that I thought just got a little unrealistic, but the novel was saved by a plot twist that I promise you will never see coming. Not great, but not too shabby. Ellis writes well with a good feel for dialogue and drama.

I started reading A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs because I just love the movie John Carter <3 It's kind of a hard read because the language in places is so archaic.

I am not having any luck finding this series in my catalog. When I do a title search on wolf of the plains, The Wolf of Wall Street is the first title that comes up and there isn't anything by that exact title.

What I've read online ~so far~ is that it's the Conqueror series, which got me some other titles to search on. So I found this: Conqueror : a novel of Kublai Khan /

And this: Genghis : birth of an empire /

All by the author Conn Iggulden

So if you would be a dear and tell me the complete title from book one, and the author, that would be a big help.

    Thank you
