The Beatles'50th Anniversary of the Ed Sullivan show appearance.

Anybody see this last night? I was bar tending last night and some older guy came in asking if I could turn on CBS at 7:00. It was slow and nobody objected so we turned on the celebration of the British Invasion. Even though it was 10 years before my birth, I watched most all of it and really enjoyed it. I do have one question though. Wh

Whether or not anybody has seen the special will determine if it's worth asking the question.

watched it live last night. There were some high point and some low points. I could have done without any of the "current pop stars" weighing in. I thought Katy Perry was terrible, Maroon 5 was not much better.
Dave Grohl and friends were great as were Jeff Lynne and Dhanni Harrison. I fell asleep during Ringo's performance, so I have to catch the end on DVR.

I just saw the first hour, not the second. I don't who the male and female singers were that did "Let It Be", but it was excellent! They were the best of what bit I saw.

And yeah, I noticed that Clapton wasn't there either. They had to get somebody else to play lead on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

I saw the first half so far. I agree, I did not like Katy Perry. Sometimes she belted it out pretty well but most of time she sounded like a fat man that just ran to the frig and back - just a bunch of blowing air.

Clapton was more friends with Harrison than anything. I'm not really surprised he wasn't there.
