If I could afford one, I'd consider it.

The problem is there aren't any codes that affect the smog test. There's a code for the NOX sensor, but that doesn't affect the smog test.

It's the INC's that are coming up for the catalytic converter and an O2 sensor. With incompletes the smog tester will not pass my vehicle. That's where I started on this little venture - by going to the smog test place.

A few years ago the B&C had some issues with his 88 Pathfinder. A shop in town wanted to do all kinds of work they said it required in order to pass smog. They estimated around $1000 or more. He couldn't afford that much, so he called our trusty mechanic and he did some work, just enough to pass smog, not enough to make a mortgage payment. Then he sent us to a local shop that does just smog tests. Passed with no problems.

Our mechanic isn't trying to get rich off his clients, so I trust him.
When you're left out of the club, you know it. When you're in the club, you don't see what the problem is.

When we were in Chicago, most gas prices were around $1.56 to $ 1.69, depending on where we were. However, we saw a bunch of places where gas was $1.25 with a basic car wash. We didn't stop at any of those places, and so I can't tell you what a basic wash costs, and or even if the discount is a good deal. Just thought it was interesting.

The local Costco's were $1.32 and $1.37 today but all the rest had a price hike a couple days ago and are $1.59.

I've seen gas as low as $1.07. That would be great except without jobs people around here can't even afford that cheap price. Our state is is 1.3 billion dollars below the expected tax revenue with one quarter to go and that is under a Republican government that has been very tight with money. Anyway, it's kind of ironic that Saudi Arabia is driving the price into the ground to kill off the US producers when they normally jack it up. Sorry, continue your celebrations, don't mind Clertus and I as we wallow in our pity party....

It's okay. Obama took credit for cheap gas.

Ed, what state are you in? According to the Bureau of Labor, as of December 2015, New Mexico had the highest unemployment rate at 6.7%. Of course each state will have varying rates by county.

Unemployment rate is a lie used for political capital gain.

The real unemployment rate is given by the number of work-age people and number of people actually working.
    Census data 2014 - 2,085,572; under 18: 24.1%; over 65: 15.3%
Subtract 100k college students you have 1.16mil people to work.
    Actual employment 0.851mil.
That puts the true unemployment at 27%, out of which 6.7% are collecting unemployment while for the other 20% the benefits have expired or they are not interested in working at all.
