Not even close.
If X is 27.83% then saying "X is 27.71% +0.3%/-0.1%" is a valid estimate, however saying it's 6.5% is a blatant lie.

And no, the DMV has no clue who is working and who is not.

They have an evidence of who lives in the state and their exact ages -> that gives the workforce.
DOL has the number of people working. Combine the 2 and you have the true employment picture.

Hey Pinnacle, how are things supposed to be in the lower part of the state(STurgis/3 Rivers/White Pigeon, etc, etc)? Inlaws were laid off by Chevron and Shell and have moved up there. They had bought a retirement house a couple years ago and decided to move in early.

Those are small communities so options are limited but available. My sister works in economic development for multiple counties down there. She wins some and loses some. Kalamazoo has plenty of opportunity if you go a bit north of those communities.

I'm in Oklahoma. I'm not sure what our unemployment rate is right now but I know lots of people that have recently lost their jobs in the oil and gas industry. I still think it will get worse too.

I'm up here in the Texas Panhandle, and while most small producers and well service companies are still doing OK, companies like Chesapeake, Linn Energy, etc. are screaming. If I wanted to buy a used truck, now would be the time. The repos are beginning to stack up.

Nope, I got rid of that after only a year. Went with a Jetta. Reliable enough, got friends that can solve almost all problems with it. Just soooooo boring, I want a truck
