I guess it's possible with a big commute:
115 miles one way to work = 230 a day x 5 days a week x 52 weeks = 60,000 a year

I commuted 60 miles one way for school to Harrisburg, PA, a lot of people from my area do it daily for work. I worked once with a guy who drove about 120 miles one way each day for work, but he negotiated a company van and gas card to do it with so all he lost was over 4 hours in the car each day.

I could never do a 2 hour commute. I think I'd kill myself. I guess audiobooks or whatever would help and 2 hours of non traffic commute would be easier than 2 hours of rush hour traffic. I can't even imagine it honestly. I have a 12 minute commute from my door to my desk.
On a Friday in Alexandria, it could take better than 2 hours to clear the Woodrow Wilson bridge for any of our managers living in Maryland. Fortunately, we had a bar about 2 minutes from the plant, so we had a nice place to drink beer and discuss work issues (just joking)while waiting for the traffic to thin out.

10 steps from my bed to my office. It's exhausting really.
45 minutes in the morning, at least an hour after work
Office is in the process of moving, going to be 10 more miles, but I am hoping for a quicker actual commute as it is going out of town rather into the belly of the beast
Gas jumps $.40 down here
