Fall in Michigan

I was at a conference this week in Traverse City, Michigan. For those of you who have never visited Michigan, Traverse City is at the base of Grand Traverse Bay which is a part of Lake Michigan. Most of Michigan is past peak color right now but Lake Michigan's relative warmth delays the affect on the west coast of the state. This worked well for me Friday. I took the picture while on Old Mission Peninsula in Grand Traverse Bay. Michigan is quite a beautiful state so if you ever have a chance to visit, be sure to do so.

First off, yes. Very Nice Pic.

One thing about serving in the military is that you get to meet people from all over the country; different states and cultures. I can honestly say that I met more good people from The Great State of Michigan than anywhere else. I had four REALLY good friends from there. I also met people from my home state of Texas and most of them were jerks. Also, people from California were jerks too but for a totally different reason.
