I have a garden shed but it accumulates little snow. It must be because of the shape of the roof.
Put a 2X4 vertically from the floor to the peak inside, and it will miraculously withstand snow loads even in Valdez, Alaska. Had I known at the time, it wouldn't have collapsed. My next door neighbor had the exact same snow load, and exact shed. His was fine because of that brace.
My shed collapsed because a middle beam failed and the roof simply ripped from the screws holding it at the peak.
The top beam stood in place at first, but eventually gave way because of the uneven load.
Being held with a 2x4 would have done nothing...
I rebuilt it using a kit for snow areas, much stronger beams plus 4 additional beams... Fortunately it was under warranty so it only cost me $100 extra for the snow area kit, the company paid all the other parts.
Bunch of dumba$$es...move to FL, you'll then only have to worry about leaves building up on your roof...
Where I live in Florida it is the evil pine needles that clog the gutters.
Needles are nothing compared to when the sap starts falling all over. That stuff when it dries you need a chissel to knock it loose!
Or a tornado blowing the whole shed away.....
Hey, tornadoes are everywhere!
Even we get them!
