yeah winamp was pretty OK.
does google play music not work. I have a bunch of gapless albums in my collection and don't remember having any issue with google music...

Both. it'll play anything you have local as well as stream anything you have in their cloud as well as their spotify type service.
ahhh straight up media player. I did not think of that. I was looking at mp3 players.

MX player is out.
Google play music is out. I don't have it but the store says I have it on all my devices so I am assuming it is the native player and it does not work.
Edit: It is not the default player but it still does not work.

you still can probably get a old apk of winamp if you look around.
