Thinking of starting a small business IT consulting

Well it looks like this is really happening. I mean, unless something changes things are moving right along. The guy who started the last two companies I worked for needed some help with his laptop. So he called me this morning and I spent about 5 minutes helping him and solved his problem. Then I thought that would be the end of the conversation and we would just hang up. But before I could hang up, he began giving me an education in starting a small business. He wants to help me get my business started. So he gave me a lot of stuff to think about and work on and when he comes back from his trip to India, he is going to contact me again and go over more stuff. Then he's going to connect me with a bunch of people he knows who need help. Various small businesses and individuals who have IT needs.

So now I'm taking what he said and reading through this and trying to get this going.

Thanks! For now it's just a side project. I'm also still looking for full-time work. Even if I find work, I can still do this on the weekends though until it grows into something more permanent. But my friend helping me out by connecting me to his peers is really a good start to this whole thing I think.
