It looks like an auger but I am not sure what it augs. There is nothing to show scale. Is it for auging sap holes in maples?

It's a wood drill bit followed by a conical reamer.
It would make a slightly tapered hole.
Width set manually so not extreme precision, the hole would be plugged by a conical piece and depth is not critical, but seal is.
Cork hole for a wine barrel?
