right, but only for a year. after the year is up you need to buy the license to keep using it.
So do a complete backup because I doubt you will be able to roll back after that year if you don't like it.

I read about this too but I'm not going to get too excited. I've already learned way too many times that these things are always too good to be true. Especially with Microsoft. I'll believe it when I see it.

And by the way, one thing Microsoft doesn't seem to realize is that I don't care if the operating system is free, $100, $200, whatever. I'll pay whatever they ask for it if it's worth it. It's just that whatever the cost is, it better be a good product. The problem isn't the cost. If it's free and it's constantly bogged down with updates, dealing with AV, etc. then I still don't want it. We live in an age where people demand high quality. There are just too many options out there now to put up with that nonsense.
